KnOwledge and Skills DevelopMent on InNovative Green EntrepreneurshIp Models for NEETs to Build CirculAr Economy

According to Eurostat data from 2020, around 17.6% of young adults aged 20-34 in the EU were neither in employment nor in education or training (NEETs). The OECD 2021 report highlighted that an average of 15.1% of youth aged 18-24 across OECD countries also fell into this category. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated these challenges, limiting opportunities for quality education, training, and decent employment for young people. In response, OMNIA focuses on empowering NEETs through knowledge and skills development in green and circular economy models. This approach is aligned with the European Green Deal and aims to support the creation of sustainable, resilient communities while promoting innovative economic practices that reduce environmental impact.

PROJECT PROGRAMME
OMNIA is funded under the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 - KA220-YOU: Cooperation Partnerships in Youth. The project ran for 24 months, starting in April 2022 and concluding in April 2024. The consortium includes partners from Portugal, Turkey, Spain, Belgium, Romania, and Malta.

PROJECT AIM
The main aim of OMNIA is to foster the knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial potential of NEETs by equipping them with practical competencies in green and circular economy models. The project seeks to enhance their employability, stimulate innovative business ideas, and promote their active participation in sustainable economic development.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The project aims to develop practical training courses on green and circular economy topics, delivered through workshops, e-learning platforms, and expert consultations. It strives to reduce gender gaps by ensuring equal access to education and opportunities in this field. Additionally, OMNIA encourages the development of green business models and fosters strong networks between NEETs and experts. Ultimately, the project supports the long-term integration of NEETs into the labor market by equipping them with relevant, future-oriented skills.

PROJECT TARGET GROUP
The primary target group of OMNIA is young people classified as NEETs—those aged between 18 and 34 who are not engaged in employment, education, or training. The project particularly focuses on NEETs from partner countries (Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Romania, Turkey, and Malta), who face socio-economic challenges and limited access to opportunities in the green economy.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES
OMNIA implemented a wide range of activities, including the development of four main project results: an interactive e-learning platform, a networking platform connecting NEETs with experts, a common curriculum and methodologies on green and circular economy, and digital training and educational materials. In addition, the project organized four transnational project meetings, twelve virtual meetings, a series of multiplier events (national seminars and webinars), and an intensive OMNIA Training event for NEETs. Project management was supported through a comprehensive roadmap, quality assurance processes, dissemination strategies, and sustainability planning to ensure the long-term impact of the project results.
